Removing distractions doesn’t fully solve it

People turn things off.

Delete apps.

Create “focus space.”

That helps.

But only at the surface.

Because the pattern is still there.

The habit of switching.

The urge to check.

The discomfort of staying still.

That doesn’t disappear
just because the room is quieter.

Focus is not just attention

It’s tolerance.

Focus means staying with something.

But if you’re used to constant stimulation—

Automatically.

Because it’s looking for something easier.

Something faster.

Something more familiar.

This is why everything feels more tiring

Constant switching costs energy.

Even when it feels light.

That creates fatigue.

And fatigue makes focus harder.

Because now it’s not just distraction.

It’s reduced capacity.
